Background
In June 2008, Fr. Aloysius Bukenya visited St. Anne's Catholic Church in Belfast. He represented an interest of some Headteachers in Uganda, to get schools that were interested in creating links with Ugandan schools.
He was introduced to Terry Murphy, ( Senior Advisor with CCMS) and the idea of the partnerships started to take flesh.
Visits
So far there has been two visits to Uganda and also two reciprocal visits to Belfast, (the last visit was in Belfast March & April 2011. Each time the interest and support for the project gathers strength and interest. The bulk of the project costs are covered by an initiative made possible through the British Council.
